FIFA Street is almost here!

One of EAs most anticipated games of the year, FIFA Street is almost upon us! And in typical EA fashion they have released a demo to get our mouth watering at the prospect of buying the game. But, have they done a decent job compared to its predeccessor?

Source: EA Sports.

We'll start with what the core game provides. At the moment EA Creative Director Gary Patterson has told us there is FIVE game modes which include 5-a side, Panna Rules, Futsal, Last Man Standing and Custom Match. All of those are explained in the preview i've linked in above. But basically, 5-a side is five players on one team 4 on the field and one keeper. And the two new additions are Futsal and Last Man Standing. Futsal is 5 a side competition that has no outs and is similar to the original 5 a side. And last man standing is a game mode taht when a goal is scored against your team you lose a player. And whoever loses all of their players first loses the game.

Patterson has also gone on to explain a few other aspects of the game such as World Tour, in which you and your team travel around the worl in a conquest for world domination in the shorter form of the game. This mode will add to the longevity of the game, and in the end give players more reasons to buy it.

The graphics engine is similar to the one used in FIFA 12, however that is a major upgrade on the original FIFA street which had a "cartoon" like feel and wasn't taken seriously in the 'football gamers' world.

The Demo for FIFA Street has been released and is available for a free download now on Xbox 360 Marketplace and PSN. Get downloading and share your opinons on how you think the final prodcut of the game will turn out!

Modern Warfare 3, Game of the year or not?

It was hyped as the biggest game of the last few years, and it didnt dissapoint! It involved the player like no COD game has before, and still managed to have the integrity of game the Infinity Ward is known for.

We'll start with the all important campaign. While it had that expected cinematic aspect and blockbuster moments, it really lacked in a storyline. To understand the plot, you would have to have a relatively good idea of what has happened in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare world of the las couple of games. For instance, the COD 4 references that are constant throughout would be irrelevant and not make sense to new players. However in saying that, if you have played the two previous games then you are in for a treat with the remaining aspects of the campaign. Unique ways to play the campaign and invent new interest in the campaign. New killstreaks, types of enemies, surprising moments and strange events all make this campaign a treat for the casual gamer. And even for the more "intense" gamer like myself the difficulty of the campaign is a test and shouldn't be taken lightly. All in all, the campaign shouldn't be missed and for anyone who is has even the smallest interest in gaming, should play it.

On to the "Spec Ops" side of the game. This year, IW introduced the new "Survival Mode" along with the traditional "Spec Ops Missions". This has added a whole new dimension to the game itself, even though it is incredibly similar to Treyarchs "Zombies". This feature will lengthen the shelf life of an already lengthy game, which can only do good for sales. The mode itself is a continuation of facing wave after wave of enemies, that increase in strength and size of numbers in each wave. The spec ops missions provide great interaction with friends in the coop mode and allow communicationa dn team work to be a crucial factor in the success or failure of certain missions. The same can be said about survival mode.

Now onto the all important multiplayer online section. This is without a doubt one of the best multiplayers that and COD has produced and maybe even the best online for first person shooter games. The different types of playlists have great variety and include some fan favourites and new games that will interest the usual gamers. Some are Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch and new ones such as drop zone or infected. The weapons and perks are all pretty well balanced, not including the ridiculous fire power of akimbo FMG's. I'm hearing word that the team over at IW are planning to patch that ASAP, lets hope!

All in all, the game is definitely a game you should buy if your looking for a game to give you some decent playing time and greast gameplay. Whether or not it is game of the year or not, its tough to say, but i'm going to have to say no. Only because there are a lot of great games that have come out this year and some are better plays then others. I give it four out five !
